Sandell Dental Care is now Alpine Creek Dental!
In early 2015 Sandell Dental Care, Ltd became Alpine Creek Dental, and Dr. Hadley Thurmon became the new owner. And while it is true that Dr. Donald Sandell released the reins, he is not leaving the farm, because he plans on working alongside Dr. Thurmon for at least the next couple years and perhaps for years to come. So Sandell Dental Care may not be there in name, but will most certainly be there in body and spirit, because Dr. Don, Laurie, Clare, Freda, and Hedy will all remain at Alpine Creek Dental along with Dr. Hadley Thurmon. The only changes you'll initially see will be improvements such as digital x-rays, intra-oral cameras and additional video monitors. Both Dr. Thurmon and Dr. Sandell are enthusiastic about the future of Alpine Creek Dental and look forward to treating you and your family's dental needs. In fact, everybody at Alpine Creek Dental is focused on you as a person, not just your teeth, and will share honest advice regarding any necessary treatment with consideration given to your concerns, esthetic preferences, and financial constraints.
Since 2008 Dr. Thurmon has been selected as a Top Dentist after an exhaustive peer-review survey in which dentists and specialists throughout Chicago rate the abilities of other dentists and specialits. See Dr. Thurmon's 2015 Selection Letter
Family Oriented Practice
We know that dental care can be intimidating for children, so all our office systems are family-oriented to provide our younger patients with treatment catered to their needs. Our office philosophy is that both adults and children deserve to feel that their smiles are healthy and attractive. We tailor our approaches to dental care to suit your individual family’s dental care needs.
Not just about your smile!
At Alpine Creek Dental, we focus not just on oral health but entire body health since the whole body is connected. It's important to come to the dentist especially if one has diabetes, heart disease or is pregnant.

Dr. Thurmon: Graduate of The Dawson Academy
Unlike most dentists, Dr. Thurmon practices the Concept of Complete Dentistry, which emphasizes a comprehensive, individualized approach to a patient’s dental care, beginning with prevention and early intervention. Contrary to what you might think, this doesn’t mean drill and fill every tooth.
Rather, the Complete Dentistry that Dr. Thurmon practices requires an understanding of every structural part of your chewing system, including your jaw joints, facial and temporal muscles, and teeth. In the long run, this could save you from years of pain, suffering and extensive costs for multiple and repeated dental work.
Analyzing the 10 structural and functional factors in the chewing system is the basis for every new patient examination so that Dr. Thurmon can properly diagnosis and treat not only obvious problems, but also those that haven’t even shown signs yet!
Did you know that most dental problems are not painful at first, but can be identified by a trained dentist before any symptoms or damage occur?
As a graduate of The Dawson Academy, Dr. Thurmon is one of only 10% of dentists in the country who practices the Concept of Complete Dentistry. She can identify the signs of problems before any symptoms or damage occurs, which means you can receive treatments in a more conservative and less costly manner.
About The Dawson Academy
Just like most professions, there’s a range of skill levels among dentists based on type of advanced education, training, and philosophy of patient care. The Dawson Academy is an advanced dental education facility where dentists teach dentists to be better dentists.
Founded by Dr. Peter Dawson, The Dawson Academy teaches the Concept of Complete Dentistry. Although more time consuming for dental practices, Complete Dentistry results in more consistent, predictable and healthy outcomes for your oral health.
Dr. Dawson is one of the most respected and honored dentists in the history of dentistry. With a passion for teaching dentists to do it “right”, he developed the Concept of Complete Dentistry to provide patients with healthy, beautiful smiles that would function properly and serve them comfortably for the rest of their lives. With two best-selling books on the Concept of Complete Dentistry, Dr. Dawson has influenced tens of thousands of dentists to pursue a better outcome for their patients.
